Staying at Home

Simplified Lives is best known for helping seniors and others eliminate the stress and aggravation of downsizing and moving. But we also help people facing medical issues to enjoy the peace and comfort of remaining in their own homes, where they can often get the most customized care.

As proud members of the National Association of Senior Move Managers, we have access to the expertise of the organization’s “NASMM@Home” program, designed specifically to help people in this situation. The immediate goal is to reduce clutter to make the home safer and more comfortable. That can help clear the way for the vital medical equipment many of us need as we get older.

Under the program, Simplified Lives helps our clients downsize and declutter. We orchestrate the sale or donation of unwanted items and help establish a long-term home-safety plan.  When our clients do not want to move, we offer expert advice on how to create a pleasing floor plan to open up spaces that may have been used for other purposes – particularly relevant in family homes where our clients have lived for 40 years and raised children who are now grown and gone.

We at Simplified Lives pride ourselves on being efficient and compassionate. One of our most appreciated services is helping families avoid traumatic weekends of cleaning out attics and basements without the knowledge of what has value – and what should be tossed or donated.

If our clients wish to create a safer environment to remain in their home and require medical or mobility equipment, we bring in expert help from a Portsmouth, Rhode Island-based company called Home Healthsmith (www.HomeHealthsmith.com).  With more than 30 years of experience in the accessibility and mobility industry, these specialists understand that the stress of living with a disability can be overwhelming.  Home Healthsmith provides innovative in-home solutions that help clients maintain their level of comfort without compromising their health and safety.

Home Healthsmith offers:

  • Elevators
  • Stairlifts
  • Ceiling lifts
  • Bath and safety products
  • Shower bays
  • Rentals

In addition to professional installation resources, Home Healthsmith offers a membership in its home support program, The SafeHome Advantage, which reviews danger zones and opportunities to further protect client’s mobility in the home.

Home Healthsmith can provide our clients who are returning from rehabilitation support, and they can help establish a long-term plan for accessibility and mobility.

Simplified Lives is the starting point in creating a safer and more pleasant home environment through organizing and downsizing. We offer non-judgmental support and guidance for our clients who need to declutter but are not yet ready to move.
